Jade Lauren is a Detroit native, working locally in Los Angeles and Bali as a wardrobe stylist and photographer. Jade’s process relies heavily on the use of in-camera tricks and manipulation of artificial and natural light. With beginnings as a darkroom photographer, her work evolved into a focus on fashion photography and wardrobe inspired by classic '70s horror films, vintage fashions and restorative nostalgia. Simultaneously creating a conversation with the subject, Jade allows for organic dialogue between garment and individual. With an almost expressionist approach to her work, the use of instant & 35mm film are key elements to creating a visual diary of emotional experience rather than the physical.
